MEET THE ARTIST
BETH
Hair Artist & Creative DirectorI’ve been working with hair for 26 years, and even after more than two decades behind the chair, the creative side of it is still what keeps me inspired.
I naturally notice shape, proportion, texture, colour and movement. When I cut, I look at the face, head shape and body proportions, and decide where the hair needs weight, where it needs softness, and where it needs to be taken away. When I colour, I think more like a painter — light, shadow, contrast and tone.
I love hand painting, dimensional blondes, sculpted haircuts and creative colour, but I never want the technique to overpower the person.
Outside of hair, I’m drawn to photography, fashion, art and design, and a lot of that finds its way back into my work.
For me, the best hair still feels like you — just more considered, more balanced and more alive.
At the end of the day, I want people to leave my chair feeling like themselves — seen, refreshed and excited about their hair. That connection is still one of my favourite parts of what I do, and I’m grateful I get to keep creating every day.

Hair Studio is intentionally one-on-one. Your appointment is your time— no assembly line feeling.
We begin with a real consultation, looking at your hair, discussing what you love, what you don’t, your lifestyle and how much maintence actually works for you.
Settle in, have a beverage of your choice, talk, laugh, work quietly— whatever works fo you. It’s your time after all.

I chose Granville Island because I wanted to work somewhere surrounded by artists, makers and people who value things made by hand. It feels connected to how I aprroach hair: less about following a formula and more about creativity, individuality and genuine connection.
